A 52-year-old regular patron of the Heart Attack Grill in Las Vegas has died of a heart attack, the second unofficial spokesman for the restaurant to have died in as many years. The Las Vegas Sun reported that John Alleman was taken off life support on Monday (February 11th) after suffering a heart attack last week outside the restaurant. Heart Attack Grill owner Jon Basso told the newspaper of Alleman, who inspired the "Patient John" character on the
restaurant's menu, "I told him if you keep eating like this, it's going to
kill ya. He'd say, 'I just love your place, Jon.' He's the only person I know
who was probably at the restaurant more than I [was]; he's be here every darned day." Last year, 29-year-old Blair River, a 575-pound unofficial
representative for the restaurant, died from complications related to
pneumonia. The Heart Attack Grill serves food like butterfat milkshakes,
"flatliner" fries and nearly 10,000-calorie "quadruple bypass burgers." Waitresses dress as nurses, and customers who weigh over 350 pounds eat free. It was founded in 2005 and opened in Las Vegas in 2011.
